2021 K1 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Story: The K1 by Geoff Hardy Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is from the front hill of the vineyard called "The Avenue" as it is planted on both sides of the tree lined driveway. This block produces fruit of exceptional quality each year which make wines of pure varietal expression.  In the very best years we bottle a small portion from this block, selecting the very best barrels to create a sophisticated Cabernet with poise and structure that will last for decades in the bottle. 

Vintage: 2021 was an outstanding vintage for the Adelaide Hills. A wet Spring and early budburst conditions were ideal for flowering and fruit of most varieties. The ripening period remained mild giving the fruit extended time on the vine to achieve excellent flavour and ripeness balance with good levels of natural acidity.

Nose: Perfumed violets and ripe blackberries are layered with notes of dark chocolate, mint, and a hint of clove.

Palate: A refined and complex palate of blackberries and dark chocolate, supported by savoury undertones and beautifully integrated oak. The layered fruit and fine tannins create a wine of poise and longevity.

Pairing: This K1 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with a Chargrilled Tomahawk steak with blistered vine tomatoes, truffle mash potato and a 3 peppercorn jus. Click For Recipe
