Story: Planted in the ancient soils of the K1 Vineyard, Gruner Veltliner has found a new home in the cool southern Adelaide Hills where it produces exceptional white wines that capture both the old-world essence of Austria and the modern vibrancy and clarity of Australia.

Vintage:   2022 Higher than average rainfall over winter followed by a warm and dry spring resulting in even budburst and a textbook start for the vintage. A cool but relatively dry summer gave us beautiful even ripening conditions. This slow ripening allows great flavour development and retention of natural acidity.

Nose: Aromas of exotic Nashi pear and spices lift from the glass with hints of apple blossom, citrus rind and celery.

Palate: The palate is led by a crisp acid line with notes of green apple, Nashi pear, lemongrass and kaffir lime followed by a long and elegant mineral finish with a touch of French oak (20%) adding complexity and texture.

Pairing: This wine pairs particularly well with Thai Beef salads loaded with bean shoots, corriander, mint and sweet chilli dressing.
