Story: Gamay, revered as a quintessential grape variety in the renowned Beaujolais region of France, stands as a testament to the elegance and finesse achievable in winemaking. From ironstone and gravel rich soil, sitting on a gentle slope in Kuitpo, our Gamay yields wine of remarkable freshness and vibrancy, characterised by bright red fruit aromas and compelling texture. Embraced by winemakers for its adaptability and expressive nature, Gamay continues to captivate enthusiasts with its lively personality and inherent charm, we give a nod to the essence of Beaujolais' winemaking tradition and cultural heritage.

Vintage: The 2024 Vintage was initiated by a very wet spring after a relatively dry July, August and September. The wet period included two large rainfalls during November and early December leading to spoilt flowering, very low berry numbers and an extremely low crop in most varieties. These low crops were blessed with cool dry conditions throughout the three months up to vintage giving fabulous flavour development very much like the 2002 season which makes me confident of wines that will age brilliantly.

Nose: Lifted aromas of red cherry and fresh violets rise from the glass, supported by a subtle savoury edge that adds intrigue and restraint.

Palate: The palate is vibrant and supple, showing bright red cherry and gentle floral notes, with a soft herbal thread running through. Light tannins and lively acidity give it an easy, refreshing flow.

Pairing: Made to be enjoyed in its youth, this Gamay may pairs beautifully with lemon and herb roasted chicken sitting on caramelised half onions and crispy golden potatoes. Click For Recipe

The wine's lively character and fruit-forward profile complement the fresh and aromatic qualities of the chicken dish, resulting in a delightful culinary experience.
